The Ninja 500R was Kawasaki's affordable half-faired beginner-to-intermediate sportbike, built around a liquid-cooled 498 cc parallel twin with four valves per cylinder. This 2007 - 2008 version sits in the long run of the model that began as the GPz 500S, and it kept the UNI-TRAK-style single rear shock layout and a double-cradle steel frame. It was pitched as approachable for newer riders while still giving experienced riders enough performance to enjoy.
